Below you will find a list that I have compiled with the main social media tools (Social Media Tools) that are most effective and powerful in the online environment.
I have compiled this list based on the experience of several fellow adventurers I have worked with and some explorers I have looked up to, as well as my own. This is the good thing about experimenting, trying, practicing, failing and trying different things, that in the end you learn something…
Hootsuite : With this tool you can monitor and follow keywords, manage different profiles on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Ping.fm and WordPress. In addition to scheduling messages and statuses, you can save drafts of messages, upload files, quick search, create multiple users to manage platforms, a great client for social platforms.
Tweetdeck : Another incredibly useful tool (one of my favorites) that I consider a real-time browser that connects you with your contacts across the different social platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, LinkedIn, Foursquare and Google Buzz. It integrates Twitscoop which is a real-time search engine for what is “hot” on Twitter. You can also manage and create your own search lists, contacts, statuses, etc… schedule tweets and statuses, make backups, use the API for services like WordPress and Tumblr or even track your tweets stats through bit.ly and many more features that make this service a must-have tool for any Social Media Rockstar! Without a doubt, this is my choice when it comes to social media management.
Ping.fm : Highly useful if you want to update all your social platforms immediately and easily (with just one click!) Apart from integrating and updating the already known social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WordPress…) you can also do so with more specific platforms such as Flickr, Del.ici.ous, Google Buzz… and also update statuses through services such as email, messenger, Google Talk or Yahoo Messenger.
Tweetmeme : is a site that collects the most popular links on Twitter; it tracks the most “Re-Tweeted” news. It offers a button that lets you know how many times your news/post/article has been Re-Tweeted.
ShareThis : If it’s true what they say, that nowadays anyone who shares is an influencer, “ShareThis” is the medium par excellence. A small button that integrates either into your navigation bar or into your blog/website that allows you to find, share and distribute all kinds of content between the well-known social platforms.
Add to any : Similar in nature to “ShareThis”, this little syndicator button helps visitors share, favorite, and subscribe to any kind of content.
Twitterfeed : Automatically publish your blog posts.
dlvr.it : Automatically links your blog website development service to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz and other platforms, just post and forget about it!
bit.ly : “the king of shorteners is a tool that allows users to shorten those long and annoying URLs, share them and track the results and statistics of those links.

Posterous : Possibly one of the best, practical, efficient and useful tools you can find in the social media universe – If you are a blogger, it’s the bomb! Ok, I admit it, I am one and I love blogging! – In principle, “Posterous” starts as a blog platform, but with the peculiarity that you can create a blog from your own e-mail, you send it, put the subject (title of the post) and they integrate it into your blog (with photos and videos included) transforming it into a magnificent and shiny post, which is also published on the same “Posterous” platform. Of course, they offer you the possibility of publishing it automatically on other social platforms (you know Facebook, LinkedIn, blah blah blah…) on Flickr, if they are photos and on YouTube, if they are videos… Ideal for “ Posts on the Go ”
Postling : A fascinating tool that makes it easy – very easy – to manage your entire Social Media ecosystem (and that of your clients) from a single interface. “Postling” is really aimed at small businesses and community managers (sorry, is it in capital letters?) to focus, listen to and respond to their audience, using Social Media as a primary – or secondary or tertiary – channel…
Uber Twitter : This tool is said to be the most powerful and popular Twitter client for Blackberry
Socialoomph : A great tool to boost your social media activity: find friends and interesting profiles faster, manage multiple accounts and profiles, sync friends, contacts and lists, filter SPAM words, blog integration, RSS to your blog, scheduling tweets and statuses…the bad thing? it costs money, $29.97 a month! Hey!! I'll stick with TweetDeck !!
Seesmic – They call it the best Twitter client for desktop, web and mobile – It seems clear that the cake is shared between TweetDeck , Seesmic and Hootsuite – It manages multiple profiles and Twitter accounts, Facebook (profiles and pages) and also access to contact lists on Twitter. You can customize this tool and the social platforms you want to integrate according to your needs.
