The first is the bread. The better the bread, the better the toast. Look for a well-made crusty loaf with a light flavor and lots of little holes where the honey and butter can come together. The crispy crust is just as delicious as the soft interior. The toast should turn a light golden brown and occasionally a little charred on the edges. Slice the thick bread.
Next is the butter, which should be fresh and delicious. Consider something organic, grass-fed, and high butterfat/low water European-style. Use salted or unsalted depending on your preference. Many prefer to soften the butter beforehand or make honey butter in preparation.
Honey, of course, wants to be the star and steal the show from the bread and butter. But toast with butter and honey is all about the marriage of flavors and textures, so dating data consider a light golden honey or perhaps a honey that has a hint of bitterness to match its strength and urgency.
Although using an oven is recommended, you can certainly put the bread in the toaster. Try honey butter toast with vanilla ice cream, like in this recipe, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, matcha or more.
Senior Writer Tara Benwell will be at Booth 313 during the TESOL convention.
The lead writer will be at booth 313 during the TESOL convention. (incorrect)
In the last example above, we can't say 'The lead writer will be', so we don't need commas with the name.
Note that this rule works for all types of titles. It also affects the capitalization of certain civil titles such as “president” and “prime minister,” so it’s a good rule for students to learn.
